Introduction
Following updated guidance from Swim England, which has removed specific depth requirements for paddlesport and now refers to Paddle UK for such matters, Paddle UK welcomes this change. It allows organisations and pool operators to work together to determine the risks and appropriate safety measures for paddlesport activities.
Paddle UK recognises the importance of pools for building confidence, practicing rescue skills, and providing a controlled environment for training and events.
We strongly advise all organisations and paddlers using swimming pools to consult our guidance document, which can be found at: Guidance for Paddlers and Pool Managers.
For further support in developing a risk assessment there are both the Risk Assessment eLearning and AI Checker available.
