Paddle UK has today announced the nominations for the canoe slalom and kayak cross World Class Programme for the 2025 season.
A total of 21 athletes have been selected onto the Paddle UK World Class Programme for the upcoming season, which culminates at the Senior World Championships in Penrith, Australia, with the junior and U23 World Championships taking place in Foix, France.
Andy Maddock, Head of Performance Operations and chair of the Nominations Panel, said:
“As a successful Paris 2024 Olympic cycle draws to a close, Paddle UK is pleased to announce 21 athletes on to the 2025 World Class Programme, as our attention now turns to delivering exceptional performances in LA2028 and Brisbane2032.
“In applying the Programme Qualification Policy, our focus has been to identify the 21 athletes who have demonstrated a strong performance trajectory towards the next two Olympic cycles.
“It’s great to see we have such a breadth of talent across the six medal events, and we look forward to the 2025 season kicking off an exciting Olympic cycle as we build towards 2028.”
Subject to appeal and subject to satisfactory completion of the initial athlete development plan process, the following athletes are nominated to the World Class Programme for the 2025 season:

Appeals
The nomination list of athletes for the Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross World Class Programme is subject to Appeal and final ratification from UK Sport. The Paddle UK appeal process can be found here. Please remember that any appeal must be submitted within 5 working days of the publication of this statement to the Director of Governance at: . Any Appeal will be heard by three members of the Paddle UK Disciplinary and Appeal Panel Register (More details can be found here). If you object to any potential Panel members hearing your Appeal, please detail this in your Notice of Appeal as well as outlining the reasons for the objection.
The deadline for appeals is 12:30pm Monday 2 December 2024.
