Kimberley Woods backed up her first-ever World Cup kayak title with canoe bronze in Tacen.
The 29-year-old was flying high after an euphoric victory on the waters of Slovenia and returned to the start gate with her eyes on more silverware.
Despite picking up a two second penalty early on at the third gate, Woods soared onto the podium for a second time in as many days to take C1 bronze in a time of 88.19s.
And Woods noted that she is enjoying her paddling more than ever after two days of success.
“I just really wanted to go out and enjoy today,” she said.
“Having another medal around my neck feels good.
“I feel pretty confident that I’m just enjoying my paddling at the minute and trying to be me and paddle freely.
“It’s not worrying about the result and just paddling as hard as I can.
“No matter what happens tomorrow I can be proud of myself this weekend.”
Germany’s Elena Lilik clinched gold with Ukraine’s Viktoriia Us completing the podium with silver.
Woods was joined in the final by fellow Brit Bethan Forrow.
The 24-year-old had produced a brilliant heat run to qualify for the final, but picked up three penalties on her last run, eventually finishing 10th overall in a time of 96.86.
Adam Burgess missed out on a shot at the World Cup podium after a difficult final run in the men’s C1.
Burgess qualified second fastest for the final in Tacen, just 0.2 seconds off France’s Yohann Senechault who led the way in the standings, but saw an unfortunate miss on the fifth gate cost him a medal. He finished 12th overall in the final.
Ryan Westley narrowly missed out on a spot in the men’s C1 final, finishing 13th overall in the heats, whilst Ellis Miller finished 28th in the women’s event.
Tomorrow sees the start of the kayak cross event in Slovenia.
