We hope you’ve been inspired to give paracanoe a go after the incredible display of world class talent our paracanoe Paralympians demonstrated at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. If you think paracanoe might be something for you then check out our Paralympic summer programme.
Running until the end of October, the programme will provide a fun, engaging opportunity to learn paddling skills, develop your understanding of paracanoe and immerse yourself in a new sport to help equip you on your paddling journey.
The aim of the programme is to raise awareness of our fantastic sport and to support the recruitment of new paracanoe athletes.
Once you complete the course, we’ll continue to coach you at Nottingham or we will introduce you to your nearest club.
What will sessions involve?
You’ll be coached in recreational kayaks by our professional Paddle UK coaching team, together with some of our athletes. We will teach you how to paddle using a variety of skills. You’ll learn how to balance a kayak, and how to capsize and get out safely.
You’ll be able to put your training to the test with a competition at the end of the programme and we’ll be hosting a BBQ to celebrate all those who have taken part.
You’ll also get the chance to meet some of the best para-canoeists in the world, following their return from this summer’s Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
