Britain’s junior and U23 canoe sprint teams begin their European Championships today in Pitesti, Romania.
U23 champion Kristina Armstrong (Scottish Performance Squad) defends her K1 and K2 500m titles as she partners with Amy Green (Worcester).
Green also races in the K4 with Elise Montagna (Royal), Grace Anderson (Norwich), and Jessie Urquhart (Nottingham).
Katie Pocklington and Lucy Guest (Nottingham) also feature, while Gabriel Popham-Covely (Nottingham) races K1 500m and 1000m.
Nelson Kinzler and Dylan O’Connor (Richmond) pair in K2, with O’Connor joining Xavier Hinves (Southampton), Benji Cabrera (Fowey), and Tom Holland (Wey) in K4.
Haydyn Cooke-Bayley (Nottingham) and George Bell (Fladbury) complete the U23 team.
Juniors include Philippe Ehrnrooth (Devizes), Dianora De Bilio (Royal), Annie Bates (Richmond), and Isaac Aveson (Richmond).
Tom Hatton races K1 500m and joins Sam Dickson (Falcon), Olivier Mazur (Reading), and Freddie Heard (Exeter) in K4.
Mazur and Heard also race the K2 500m.
Will Short (Elmbridge) and Alex Worgan (Richmond) race K2 1000m, with Sophie Dunlop and Matilda Burton (Elmbridge) rounding out the squad.
Thursday will be dedicated to heats, while Friday will feature semi-finals along with the remaining heats before the finals over the weekend.
