This International Women’s Day, Paddle UK has launched a new #SheCoaches campaign with an ambition to create a network for female coaches and to provide targeted support to increase female representation in coaching roles.
To help shape future support and opportunities, we’re inviting women in coaching and leadership to share their experiences through our #SheCoaches survey.
Spearheaded by Nathalie Siegrist, Lead Coach Academy Programme for Paddle UK, the project aims to better understand the challenges that women face on their coaching and leadership journey, and what support and/or development opportunities they may be interested in.
She said: “We want to inspire and support other female coaches.
“The aim is to increase female representation in coaching roles and support women coaches to overcome challenges that they might experience or might get in the way of their ambitions.
“We’d love to speak to existing and aspiring coaches across all disciplines, from the local clubs to the professional structures. Our ambition is turn around the current trend where female coaches are still widely underrepresented.”
Louise Ramsdale added: “Coaching is so interesting, diverse and rewarding; working with people to solve problems and help them to learn and grow in sport and as people.
“As the only female coach within the England Slalom Talent Programme I am excited to be involved in this project to help inspire and support future generations of female coaches at all levels and connecting with female coaches across all disciplines of paddlesport.”
The insight from the #SheCoaches survey will support Paddle UK in taking steps to improve the representation of women in the coaching landscape across all levels and disciplines.
Your feedback will help shape future resources, support and initiatives.
