Sam Leaver led a British one-two at the Canoe Slalom World Cup Final in Augsburg with a glorious kayak cross gold.
Leaver crossed the line first ahead of compatriot Jonny Dickson, who made it two Brits on the top two steps of the podium in Germany.
Leaver started the day by winning time trial silver, before winning all three races en route to the final where he completed a dominant day with gold.
There was further success in the women’s event, with Lois Leaver clinching bronze to add to the time trial gold she won earlier on Sunday morning.
“I struggled a bit in head-to-head this season but to put it together in front of such a cool crowd is a really special moment,” said Sam.
“The whole race I got quite fortunate. I have been practicing the starts and it worked out in my favour. I got ahead in every round and past gate one I didn’t touch anyone else’s boat, it was the perfect race maybe.
Silver was Sam Leaver’s third time trial medal of the World Cup series, but this time the Scotsman was able to power all the way to the top of the podium in the main event.
The Edinburgh athlete progressed through both the quarter-final and semi-final alongside team-mate Dickson, who qualified 10th-fastest, and the pair repeated their one-two placing in the final, beating out Tillmann Roeller into bronze and Mathurin Madore fourth.
Sam Leaver’s performances also earned him top spot in the overall individual standings, as he finished comfortably ahead of Madore in second.
“It’s been an interesting season, my debut on the senior team, and I didn’t really know what to expect but I tried to take everything as an experience and take it as skills to use in the future,” added Sam.
“To come away with a win in the final here and also the overall win, a bit of prize money as well, is a huge bonus on what has been a really fun and enjoyable season.”
Dickson’s silver was his third World Cup medal of the season, following another silver and time trial gold in La Seu in June.
The Scot also secured first place in the overall men’s kayak cross standings, two points ahead of Jan Rohrer.
Joe Clarke qualified fifth-fastest from the individual event, but was unable to progress from his heat.
There was also success in the women’s event, as Lois Leaver capped off her season in style with two medals in Augsburg.
She opened the day with a storming run to clinch individual gold, 0.15 seconds ahead of Ricarda Funk.
The 23-year-old followed that up by navigating through the knockouts to add a bronze medal to her collection.
“It was really tough to manage [the day],” said Lois. “I was feeling really tired in my last round but I got there in the end.
“My plan going off the start was actually just to avoid contact at all costs, in the first two rounds I managed that quite well. In the third I knew it was going to be really difficult to defend the second up but I am glad I stuck it out and kept going.”
Team-mate Kimberley Woods also reached the final having qualified 13th-fastest but picked up a fault in the final to ultimately finish fourth.
However, there was further success for both paddlers as they secured podium finishes in the overall kayak cross standings.
Woods finished second and Leaver third, with Woods adding another podium to her overall golds in the C1 and K1 competitions.
“I am pretty happy to have finished second overall,” said Woods. “I am obviously a bit gutted in that final, to have got second overall and not medalled is pretty impressive!
“Hopefully there is more to come at the worlds. I like paddling in Penrith so I am really looking forward to that.
“As a team we have done really well, we have heard a lot of our national anthem this weekend.”
Nikita Setchell qualified 19th-fastest in Augsburg but was squeezed out of progressing from her heat.
