Paddle UK has approved the appointment of Richard Sant to the Board of Directors, as the representative for Paddle Scotland.
Richard Sant joined the Board of Paddle Scotland in the spring of 2024.
Paddle Scotland nominated Richard to the Board of Paddle UK. The Directors unanimously agreed the appointment in their meeting on 21 September, to start with immediate effect.
Nick Donald, Chair of Paddle UK said:
“I am delighted to welcome Richard Sant to the Board as our new Paddle Scotland representative.
“It was clear from our discussions that he has a strong strategic perspective and we are excited that he will be able to provide a range of support and insight to Paddle UK.”
Richard brings a passion for paddlesport and is involved recreationally in sea kayaking and white-water SUP.
Over the last 20 years he has made his home in the highlands in Strathpeffer, just west of the Black Isle, although he has commuted across the UK to work.
Professionally, Richard has worked in digital transformation and change leadership with a wide range of businesses.
Speaking of his appointment, Richard Sant said:
“I’m excited to join the Board of Paddle UK and looking forward to supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational goals, whilst continuing to develop and strengthen our partnership relationship with Paddle Scotland.”
The Board also unanimously approved the appointment of Manpreet Sehmbi as Senior Independent Director and agreed the composition of the Nominations Committee.
