We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Community Support Network (CSN) – and we’re looking for experienced paddling practitioners to get involved.
This new approach is based on what communities have told us they need: more local, flexible, and accessible support. By creating a network of paddlesport experts who understand the needs of their area, we can offer better guidance and services where they’re needed most.
What is the Community Support Network?
The CSN will become a group of trusted individuals who will support paddling communities in key areas such as qualifications, safety, governance, and inclusive delivery. The goal is to make support more responsive and local, helping communities, clubs, hubs, schools, and organisations thrive.
This new model will:
- Strengthen community support reach across England
- Offer cost effective and flexible work through zero-hour contracts or consultancy
- Provide culturally aware and inclusive delivery
- Help develop stronger, community-led paddling projects
- Support national goals for inclusion, safety, and sustainability.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking to connect with people who:
- Are already delivering or supporting paddling activities in their communities
- Have experience in coaching, safety, qualifications, or club development
- Understand their local paddling landscape
- Are able to work independently and flexibly.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and especially encourage those from underrepresented groups to express interest.
Areas of Expertise
You might be a good fit if you have experience in one or more of the following:
- Training and qualifications (e.g. Paddlesafer, Paddlesport Instructor)
- Operational delivery (risk assessments, session planning)
- Governance and club support (safeguarding, inclusion policies)
- Community development (inclusive workshops, engaging new paddlers)
- Mentorship (supporting new coaches and volunteers).
How it Works
Phase 1: Expression of Interest
We’re starting by reaching out to individuals, communities, clubs, instructors, and partners. You can register your interest via our short online form below.
Phase 2: Assessment and Onboarding
We’ll consider each applicant based on experience, knowledge, and flexibility. Induction and resources will be provided. Existing providers may not need a full induction.
Phase 3: Deployment
Once onboarding is completed, your name will be added to a live database. We’ll match community requests with the right person based on region, skillset, and availability.
Get Involved
This is your chance to be part of a flexible, forward-thinking network that supports grassroots paddling. You’ll be joining a team that values inclusion, safety, and local impact.
