Paddle UK is saddened to have learnt about the sudden passing of British and Welsh canoe polo player Iwan Lavis.
A statement from the Paddle UK Canoe Polo committee said:
“The polo community joins to express deep sadness at the passing of Iwan Lavis.
“Iwan was a much loved member of Welsh and British polo and a key club member of Rhondda, where his commitment to volunteering, coaching and refereeing was a model example of selflessness in our sport.
“Playing his polo with Rhonda’s first team, Iwan was a key member of the teams growth and upward trajectory of the club.
“Iwan will be remembered fondly by his teammates and fellow competitors. Please join us in expressing condolences to his family and friends.”
