Introducing the Thames 200 Ultra – a huge challenge and celebration of the River Thames this August! Athletes work individually or part of a relay team with a goal to complete 200 km on the Thames from source to tide.

This is a race for everyone and we believe the Thames is there to be enjoyed by all paddlers. The crews racing hard and pushing the endurance boundaries have their place on the river. But we, the Thames 200 Ultra team, want to see as broad a spectrum of paddlers as possible enjoying the journey too. By introducing stops (Checkpoint support), along the way and facilitating team entry options, we believe that more types of craft including SUP, open canoe and K1 will be able to take on elements of the full river journey.

Perhaps the story of the Thames 200 Ultra will be like the river itself. Experiencing lots of twists and turns at the outset, before settling into a steady rhythm, and growing in volume. We certainly hope so. One thing is certain, inspired by the river, we will keep flowing onward!
If you would like to be part of this awesome race, taking place 24-25 August 2024, please sign up via the website here. We want to make this ultra race a celebration of the River Thames for everyone. Please join us as either a competitor, as part of our incredible volunteer team, or a supporter cheering on from the bank.
Join the celebration at the finish line in Teddington (Hawker Centre), to cheer on the finishers. Enjoy the Bank Holiday Sunday, in the best way possible, with a celebration of determination and community by the river. Plus you’ll have the Bank Holiday Monday to rest and recover!
Paddle UK are proud to be supporting the Thames 200 Ultra.
