All British C1 and K1 paddlers were back on the water on day two of the European Championships in Paris.
It was a day of heats with the top 32 paddlers in each class qualifying for tomorrow’s semi finals – and all the Brits are safely through.
After a successful C1 team event yesterday, Adam Burgess posted 90.44, with a late touch on gate 19 to qualify in fourth place.
He will be joined by Stafford and Stone teammate Luc Royle who crossed the line in 91.51, also with a touch at the bottom of the course and Ryan Westley, who made it a full house for GB.
In the women’s kayak Kimberley Woods (Rugby) qualified in sixth place in 92.62, with Lois Leaver in 10th, posting a clean run in 96.14. Nikita Setchell is also safely through in 16th place with a time of 98.95.
Kimberley was the top Brit in the women’s C1. She qualified in fifth place in 101.73. Lee Valley’s Ellis Miller and Bethan Forrow also made it through in 18th and 24th respectively.
Finally, the full complement of GB K1 men will race again in the semi-finals with Joe Clarke (Stafford and Stone) in 15th in 86.13, Ben Haylett in 23rd in 87.81 and Jonny Dickson (CR Cats) in 26th in 88.29.
