A festive fun paddle has been held to ‘make paddlesports accessible to all’.
Omega Outdoor Adventure, in Tamworth, worked with Nurture Community CIC and Ruby’s Yard CIC, to raise funds for inclusive paddling sessions in 2025.
About £1,200 has been collected with donations still coming in.
Some of the money has gone towards supporting the costs of the event, from adaptive equipment to logistics, safety gear, and more.
Money will also support inclusive paddling sessions for SEND schools and local youth and adult groups, helping them complete six-week courses and earn certificates to celebrate their progress.
The cash will also help Ruby’s Yard maintain their Paddle-Ability club status by providing adaptive equipment and enabling individuals who face barriers to paddlesports.
Joel, who took part, said it was “fun”, while Oscar had a “great time” but it was “tiring”.
Michael Whiting, who dressed as a reindeer, said “It was absolutely amazing” and “he loved” raising money for the charity.
Izzy said her mum “made her” take part! But she had a great time and paddled six kilometers.
