Britain’s paracanoe and canoe sprint athletes will begin their European Championships campaign today in Račice, Czechia.
Off the back of a successful World Cup earlier this year, Paralympic champions Charlotte Henshaw MBE and Laura Sugar MBE will be back in the start buckets, along with Paralympic medallists Jack Eyers, Hope Gordon, Dave Phillipson, Rob Oliver and Stuart Wood.
Paris 2024 Paralympian Ed Clifton, World silver medallist Jonny Young and 2023 European silver medallist Lindsay Thorpe will also be racing along with Xander Van Der Poll and former Leicester Tigers player, Taylor Gough, who celebrated making his international debut by carrying the flag for the British team at the opening ceremony.
The canoe sprint team includes Tokyo 2020 Olympians Deborah Kerr and Emily Lewis, along with Emma Russell and Zoe Clark, with Beth Gill competing in the C1 events.
Tom Lambert completes the team, racing in the C1 500 and 1000m.
