The England Slalom Club Support Scheme fund is open for new applications from eligible England-based Slalom clubs.
The England Slalom Club Support Scheme is supported by the England Talent Programme and the England Canoe Slalom Committee.
The money invested in the scheme by the England Canoe Slalom Committee, is as a direct result of the levies paid by canoe slalom events hosted in England.
The purpose of the fund is designed to act as a financial catalyst to kick start innovative projects, or to support existing projects which drive development within the slalom pathway.
This is the fourth application window since the scheme’s launch in late 2023, and a total of £14,000 has been committed to support club projects and activity.
One of the clubs that benefited from this scheme in the last application window was Shepperton Slalom Canoe Club who applied for funding to purchase Kayak Cross equipment.
Andrew Pearson Club Chairman said:
“The money we received from the England Slalom Club Support Scheme has enabled the club to purchase kayak cross equipment.
“This will enable us to integrate kayak cross into our club sessions and this will add an extra option to our usual races, where we aim to run this at the divisional race we’ll be hosting in July.
“We hope this will help further boost attendances at these races as we look to build on the fantastic achievements of Kimberley Woods and Joe Clarke MBE at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”
