Tuesday 17 December
We have confirmed the date for the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of British Canoeing, trading as Paddle UK, as Tuesday 18th March 2025.
The AGM is a formal meeting of our members, providing an opportunity to review the work of the organisation over the past 12 months.
Agenda items will include discussing and approving the organisation’s finances, assessing current progress against the strategy as well as confirming the appointment of Board Directors, including the announcement of a new Director elected from the Paddle UK (England) membership.
The 2025 AGM will be a fully virtual meeting with members given the opportunity to participate in the meeting via an online platform. The virtual meeting will again be hosted on the Lumi platform to keep proceedings as familiar as possible.
Following feedback from previous meetings, the 2025 AGM will again be held on a weeknight.
The meeting will start at 7:00pm on Tuesday 18th March 2025 and all of our members are welcome to attend.
Official notice and further details of the business of the AGM, including the virtual platform joining arrangements, the Agenda, and the Voting by Proxy form, will be posted on our website on or before Monday 24th February 2025.
British Canoeing is the registered legal name of Paddle UK, hence why the meeting is still referred to as a “British Canoeing Annual General Meeting”.
AGM Motions
In accordance with our Articles of Association, all members are entitled to submit a motion (a proposal to be voted on by the members) for inclusion within the AGM agenda.
Any motions for discussion at the Annual General Meeting must be signed by two Full Individual Members, entitled to vote in accordance with the British Canoeing Articles of Association.
In accordance with Article 17, motions should be lodged between 18th December 2024 and 18th January 2025 and these can be submitted via email to Joy Johnston, Head of Governance () at any time during this period.
We look forward to welcoming as many members as possible to the AGM.
